Hourik Akarjalian, the athletic director of the Pasadena chapter said, “What I love about this event is that everyone here is involved. We are all a family here. Everyone is a part of putting it together, of contributing to the same cause of funding the activities of young athletes and students. We create this family friendly environment where everyone can relax and have a good time.”

A performances by the Armenian band “Element” created a vibrant atmosphere by giving traditional tunes a modern twist, much like the varying topics of conversation between different generations while social committee members welcomed guests with engaging smiles as they served kabobs, and whipped up crepes.

Hourie Boghossian and Seta Postajian, members of the Young Ladies Committee described their purpose: “The Young Ladies Committee brings the community together on a social level. We aim to run successful and captivating fundraisers not only to fund the association, but to allow the young members of the Armenian community to interact and connect.”

The Chairman of the Western Committee, Krekor Karaguezian, also attended the event, pleased with the manifestation of AGBU’s goals as an organization. “I have always loved Armenian culture and being an involved member of the community. We aim to keep Armenians together, maintaining our heritage and culture.”
