Excitement fills the air as The Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Western District is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Committee Board Members, effective January 1, 2015.
The Western Region District Committee serves one of AGBU’s most important and vibrant Armenian communities in the Diaspora. As such, addressing the challenges of our global Armenian community, while also concentrating its efforts on high quality initiatives and programs are top priorities for the new board. Additionally, the newly appointed board will strive to foster a deep sense of national identity and pride in our youth in order to prepare them for preserving our rich national heritage and to instill in them a vested interest in continuing the traditions that will benefit Armenians for generations to come.
These new board members have enthusiastically embraced their new roles, and the many challenges ahead. Their commitment and willingness to serve the Armenian community in the Western region of the United States is not only extremely commendable, but inspirational as well.
Chairwoman: Talin Yacoubian
Talin is a partner and founding member of Yacoubian & Powell LLP where she practices with a small group of attorneys, each with a particular area of expertise. Talin received her BA in Economics from Pomona College, and her Juris Doctorate from the George Washington National Law Center in Washington, D.C. Talin is active in a number of civic, bar, and charitable organizations.
